Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) is an autonomous organization, located in Delhi, India. Its objective is to promote through funding and academic guidance, historical research and writing in India. Eminent Historian Professor Ram Sharan Sharma has been the founding Chairman of ICHR. The ICHR publishes two journals: the "Indian Historical Review" (bi-annually) and "Itihas" (in Hindi).

In addition, it provides publication subsidy to seminars, books, congress proceedings and journals.
