The Honourable Mr. Justice Richard Johnson (born October 1937) has been the President of the Irish High Court since November 2006.cite news |url=http://www.ireland.com/newspaper/ireland/2006/1122/1163947858447.html |title=Cabinet approves judicial appointments |author=Stephen Collins |date=22 November 2006 |work=The Irish Times |accessdate=2008-03-20] He is the second most senior Irish judge after the Chief Justice John L. Murray.

He is also under the terms of the Constitution of Ireland by virtue of that office an ex-officio member of the Supreme Court. In the absence of the Chief Justice, he acts as a member of the Presidential Commission.

Johnson was born in Tralee, County Kerry and studied law at University College Dublin (UCD). He qualified as a barrister at the King's Inns in 1960 and was appointed to the High Court in 1987. His father was a district court judge for a number of years and his son and daughter are barristers.fact|date=March 2008 As of 2007, he is paid €244,199 per year.fact|date=March 2008
