* Amy Alexander, Class of 1981. Journalist, author, producer. Amy Alexander edited the Lincoln Log newspaper in her senior year, went on to a successful career in journalism and media. She was an award-winning staff writer at "
The San Francisco Examiner ", "The Fresno Bee", and "The Miami Herald ". She authored two non-fiction books, "Fifty Black Women who Changed America" (Kensington Press, 1999) and "Lay My Burden Down" (Beacon Press, 2001), which she co-wrote withHarvard Medical School psychiatrist Dr.Alvin Poussaint ; Amy Alexander also edited the definitive essay collection onLouis Farrakhan , "The Farrakhan Factor" (Grove/Atlantic Monthly Press, 1998.
