"1919 Eternal" is the third album by the heavy metal band Black Label Society. It was released on February 19, 2002 and was written for Zakk's father. "1919 Eternal" is the album which follows from their 2000 release "Stronger Than Death". As Zakk Wylde is a former guitarist for "Pride & Glory" and most recently Ozzy Osbourne, their influences are evident on this recording, mixing metal riffs elements of Southern rock.

Writing

Five songs were written by Zakk for Ozzy's album Down To Earth. Ozzy rejected the songs because they were "too Black Label", so Zakk kept them for this album. The songs were "Bleed For Me", "Life/Birth/Blood/Doom", "Demise Of Sanity", an alternate piano version of "Bridge To Cross" and a demo presumably called "I'll Find The Way". The latter two were never released.

Title

The original title for 1919 Eternal was "Deathcore WarMachine Eternal". Zakk decided to change it because of the events on September 11th.

Artwork

The album artwork is based on a Nazi propaganda poster used to recruit Dutchmen into the Schutzstaffel (SS).
