Fereshteh Taerpour (born 1953, Tehran) is the first Iranian female independent film producer.

Taerpour has over 25 years of national and international experiences in journalism, writing, and film making specially for the children and young adults.She is the President of “KHANEH”, House of Literature & Art for Young Adults, since 1989. She has been the president of the "Khaneh Cinema", the Iranian alliance of motion guide (2000-2002) and Member of the Board of Directors of “CIFEJ”, the International Center of Film for Children & Young People (2000 - 2002). She has been invited as a jury member to several National and International film festivals such as Frankfurt, Cairo, India, and Isfahan.

From 1982-1991 she was the Head of Writing & Editorial Center of “KANOON”, Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults in Iran and the first Iranian member of “CIFEJ”, International Center of Film for Children & Young People since 1994.She has produced numerous feature films, more than 30 Documentaries and 20.000 minutes TV products.

Fereshteh Taerpour received her Bachelor in English Literature from University of Literature & Foreign languages.

* Author and translator of more than 10 books for children, since 1982
* Author of a fiction novel for adults, named "SECOND WIFE"
