Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation is the official radio and television broadcaster of the Solomon Islands. It is the sole television broadcaster of the island nation, which has no other television stations.

Because early records are missing, the early history of broadcasting in the Solomon Islands is clouded in mystery. Armed Forces Radio began broadcasts in the Solomon Islands in the 1940s during World War II, when military forces of the U.S and Great Britain landed there to free the islands from the Japanese. After the war, the U.S. military briefly owned a station, operated by the Mosquito Radio Network. Shortwave radio broadcasting in the Solomon Islands began in 1956. The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation was founded in 1976, replacing the Solomon Islands Broadcasting System (SIBS). It began the first television service on the islands in 1992.
