The 1952 Brooklyn Dodgers rebounded from the unhappy ending of the 1951 season, to win the Pennant by 4 games over the New York Giants. However, they dropped the World Series in seven games to the New York Yankees. On July 24, 1952, Duke Snider hit the 100th HR of his career. It was a walk-off home run in the 11th-inning against Frank Smith in the second game of a doubleheader. [http://www.thebaseballpage.com/players/snidedu01.php]
