The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also known as Foreign Ministry, is a Government of Pakistan's federal and executive Ministry which is responsible for international and Foreign Affairs. The ministry was created in 1947, and was one of the first ministries to be established. The executive and political figure heading the Foreign Ministry is colloquially known as the "Foreign Minister of Pakistan". Current head of the ministry is Parliamentarian Hina Rabbani Khar whose rank is Minister for Foreign Affairs. The post of Foreign Minister is considered one of the high-profile portfolios in Cabinet of Pakistan, and usually has a Deputy Minister. The Deputy minister or junior minister, is known as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. The bureaucratic head of the ministry is Salman Bashir, the current Foreign Secretary.

The Ministry is headquartered at the Constitution Avenue, Islamabad, a few blocks from Parliament and the Prime minister Secretariat. The Ministry is led by Foreign Minister, who is nominated by the Prime minister of Pakistan, and is a senior member of the Cabinet.
