Eddington is a small town on the Loddon River in Central Victoria, Australia. It is approximately 20 km north-west of Maldon, 13 km SE of Dunolly, 24 km ENE of Maryborough and 48 km south-west of Bendigo. It is approximately 130 km north-west from Melbourne.

There is a bridge over the Loddon at Eddington, built during the 1930s or 1940s to replace a 19th century example that tended to be swept away by seasonal floods.

One of Eddington's claims to fame is that the rescue team that set out to look for the ill fated Burke and Wills party in the 19th century camped there overnight.

While there were facilities including a brewery, cheese factory, butter factory, several hotels, race course and Churches during the second half of the 19th century, Eddington's population would be something less than 50 today (September 2007). Today there is an active Golf Club, a Community Centre and live steam model engineering society. There are two former hotels, a former general store, former police sdtation and lockup, former primary school and former garage. The Loddon River at Eddington is actually the upper reach of Laanecoorie Weir.

There have been two interesting histories of Eddington published: the most recently within the last few years. Both are locally inspired and are very thorough.

There is a light engineering business at Eddington, as well as a Lucerne Mill. Agricultural activities in the district include wheat and grains, cattle, rape seed, sheep, wine grapes and horses.
