Citibus tours

Citibus tours

Citibus operated from October 1986 to around 1994/95 in the Greater Manchester area. They mainly operated on the North side of Manchester based around their Chadderton base. They generally copied routes run by GM Buses and ran a small number of very old buses. Citibus was eventually taken over by GM Buses North and some of the Citibus branded buses were repainted in to GM Buses North colours with Citibus lettering on the side.

It may have been GM Buses's intention to run this as a low cost operator but it did not last long as GM Buses North was taken over by FirstBus in February 1996 and the operations were merged into the 'Greater Manchester' brand, later First Manchester.
