The 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup football tournament was the seventh FIFA Confederations Cup. It was held in Germany between 15 June and 29 June 2005. The tournament was won by 2002 FIFA World Cup winners Brazil, who defeated Argentina 4–1 in the final Waldstadion in Frankfurt. It was Brazil's second win at the Confederations Cup.

1Argentina was awarded a spot in the competition because Brazil had won both the 2002 FIFA World Cup and the Copa América 2004. Since both competitions award their winners a spot in the Confederations Cup, the runner-up in the Copa América 2004 was called to play.[1]
