"The Uninvited" is an upcoming American remake of the 2003 South Korean horror film "A Tale of Two Sisters". It is unrelated to the Korean horror film of the same name. The film is rated PG-13 by the MPAA for "violent and disturbing images, thematic material, sexual content, language and teen drinking."

Plot

Anna Rydell (Emily Browning) returns home to her father (David Strathairn) and sister, Alex (Arielle Kebbel), after spending time in hospital following the tragic death of her mother (Maya Massar). Her recovery suffers a setback when she discovers her father has become engaged to her mother's former nurse, Racheal (Elizabeth Banks). That night, Anna is visited by the ghost of her mother, who warns her of Rachael's intentions. Together, Anna and Alex try to convince their father that his current fiancée is not who she pretends to be, and what should have been a happy family reunion becomes a lethal battle of wills between stepdaughters and stepmother.

Development

Working titles for the film included "A Tale of Two Sisters" and "Apparition"Fact|date=September 2008, but the final title was confirmed to be "The Uninvited" in an announcement made in March. The original score for the film was composed by Christopher Young, who recorded it with an 78-piece orchestra and 20-person choir.
