Julio Sanchez Cristo (January 9 1959) is a Colombian radio personality best known for his morning radioshow where people can give their opinion on a variety of topics live by phone. He can be heard every morning in W Radio, a Colombian syndicated radio station that can be heard in different countries.

Julio Sanchez who is usually referred as Julio Sanchez Cristo so he can be distinguished from his father, Colombian entrepreneur Julio Sanchez Vanegas, has worked in different media such as television and newspapers, however, he is widely recognized for his work in radio with Colombia's two major broadcasting stations (Caracol and RCN radio).

His distinctive voice and his mastering of interviews to a wide range of characters (whom could go from a maid in Barranquilla to a world famous celebrity in London such as Cat Stevens)has made him the winner of different journalism prizes in Colombia. Mr. Sanchez is an admirer of the American culture and devotes a great part of his show talking about different aspects of ongoing events that take place in the United States. This however, does not distract him from his duty as a broadcaster. Morning Radio Show

Julio Sanchez currently hosts the morning show in Colombia's W radio with high national and international ratings.Fact|date=September 2007 The show is syndicated and can be heard in Venezuela, Panama, Ecuador, USA (east coast), Spain, the United Kingdom and Pakistan. [http://www.wradio.com.co/#]

The show features different topics, mostly current events, national and international news. The show has journalists on the world's major cities and continually informs about events that take place at the time the show is being broadcasted; those events can be cultural in nature or events that because of their importance make news.

Julio Sanchez Cristo is very popular among his audience. Julio spends a good part of the show allowing regular people to talk live by phone from different cities in Colombia , Latin America or from the US.However he has been strongly criticized for cutting people short at the middle of their stories. Some people criticize Mr. Sanchez for being too superficial and elitist.

The show is conformed by a staff of journalist that reports from different cities in Europe,Latin America and the US. The show also features music, especially emphasis is made on adult music such as jazz and pop.

Julio Sanchez Cristo has two sidekick hosts, Dr. Alberto Casas Santamaria, whom he has worked in radio for a long time and is also a well known media personality in Colombia, and Felix De Bedout, a well recognized journalist with an extensive career in various media, most notably being host on the tv news CM&

Radio History

Mr. Sanchez worked with "Viva FM" from 1991 to 1996. In 1996 he moved his show to "La FM" a station owned by RCN radio. in 2003 he came back to Caracol radio in W Radio, where he currently works.
