Vaakya Architecture

Vaakya Architecture

Owned by Vaakya Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Vaakya Architecture is a cross-platform distributed computing architecture. Vaakya Architecture was designed with the intention to build the most critical infrastructure and middleware components into one runtime that is distributed across all devices accessing the application. Vaakya Architecture employs a distributed object dictionary.

Advantages

* Super Rich Clients — Vaakya's Architecture is compact and efficient enough to automatically scale and run multi-tier applications distributed across ordinary workstations, without the need for expensive servers. The size of the runtime is only 1.5 MB. [ [http://www.cxotoday.com/cxo/jsp/article.jsp?article_id=75804&cat_id=912 CXOtoday.com > News > Technology > Vaakya - Made in India ] ]
* Faster Development — Vaakya's descriptive scripting language makes design, development, testing and change management much easier, because it is cross-platform and employs domain-specific frameworks (e.g. Vaakya's Business Applications Framework). An ISV using Vaakya's platform can decrease time to develop and deliver applications to market by 30 to 40 percent. * Distributed Object Dictionary (DDO) Performance — Because the object definition and components are available in each system, the execution environment can be dynamically changed to behave as a client or server. The DDO also allows applications to be designed for online, offline, or hybrid configurations. [ [http://www.vaakya.com/white_papers/Distributed_Computing_Architecture.pdf Vaakya ] ]

Disadvantages

When the number of simultaneous users connecting to the application exceeds 100, you need to start adding more powerful workstations to the cluster.
