Maria Carlshamre

Maria Carlshamre (born 3 February 1957 in Enköping), since June 2008, Maria Robsahm, is a Swedish politician and Member of the European Parliament. She was elected as a member of the Liberal People's Party, part of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe. However, on March 1 2006, she defected to the Feminist Initiative. She sits on the European Parliament's Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality. She is also a substitute for the Committee on Culture and Education and a member of the Delegation to the EU-Moldova Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.

In August 2005 Carlshamre was convicted of accounting irregularities following the bankruptcy in a company owned jointly by Carlshamre and her former husband. She was given a suspended sentence.
