Henri Weber (born
23 June 1944 in Leninabad,Soviet Union ) is a French politician andMember of the European Parliament for the north-west ofFrance . He is a member of the Socialist Party (PS), which is part of theParty of European Socialists , and sits on theEuropean Parliament 's Committee on Culture and Education.Weber was an activist in the
May 1968 uprising and was a leading member of the TrotskyistRevolutionary Communist Youth (JCR) andRevolutionary Communist League (LCR) before joining the PS.He is also a substitute for the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, a member of the delegation to the EU–
Russia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, and a substitute for the delegation for relations withJapan .Career
