Honda Toshinaga

nihongo|Honda Toshinaga|本多利長|Honda Toshinaga (1635-January 21, 1693) was a Japanese daimyo of the early Edo period who ruled Okazaki, Yokosuka, and then the Murayama Domain. Toshinaga was the 6th son of Honda Tadatoshi, lord of the Okazaki Domain. He succeeded to family headship upon his father's death in 1645; however, he received only 50,000 of the 60,000 koku that had comprised Okazaki under Tadatoshi's rule; the remaining 10,000 was divided between his brothers Sukehisa and Toshirō. He was transferred to Yokosuka during the same year; however, the shogunate confiscated the domain in 1682, due to Toshinaga's alleged misconduct and repressive governance. He was later pardoned, and given 10,000 koku of land in Dewa Province, which became known as the Murayama Domain. Toshinaga died in 1692, at age 58, and was succeeded by his son and heir Honda Sukeyoshi.

Toshinaga's grave is at Kyōzen-ji, in Roppongi, Tokyo.
