Lucy Meacock

Lucy Meacock (born in 1959) is a British television news presenter.

Educated at Ursuline Convent in Chester she then moved to Australia where she attended Morongo Girls College in Geelong, Victoria. After returning to England, she attended Upper Chine School in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight.cite web

Meacock has worked for BBC Radio in Newcastle and Tyne Tees Television, before moving to London to work for BBC Television where she presented "London Plus" in the 1980s.cite web

She has also chaired the Granada TV late night discussion programme, "The Late Debate" as well as co-presenting "Granada Upfront", a live regional debate programme with Anthony Wilson.

In 2001 Meacock won two Royal Television Society awards for the "Manchester Bomb Programme" and the "Organ Retention Scandal Debate".

In 2007 Meacock joined ITV News as one of many newscasters presenting the "Weekend News" bulletins.
