Michalis Pelekanos (alternate spelling: Mihalis Pelekanos) (Greek: Μιχάλης Πελεκάνος) (born May 25th, 1981, Koridalos, Piraeus, Athens, Greece) is a Greek professional basketball player. He is 198 cm (6'6") tall and plays as a swingman.

Pro career

Pelekanos began his pro career in Greece with Peristeri of the Greek League. He later joined the Greek club AEK Athens, followed by the Greek club Panellinios. After a career year at Panellinios, where he made the home crowd fans chant his name during games, due to his exciting defensive plays and highlight reel dunks, Pelekanos moved to the Euroleague giants Real Madrid of the Spanish ACB League.[1]

In 2008, he signed a 3 year contract worth 2.125 million euros net income with Olympiacos Piraeus. In August 2009, he was loaned by Olympiacos to Maroussi.[2]

Pelekanos was a member of the senior Greek national basketball team that competed at the EuroBasket 2007. He was also selected to the Greek national team for the 2008 Olympics Basketball Tournament.
