The United States Air Force's 740th Missile Squadron is a missile operations squadron of the 91st Space Wing, 91st Operations Group, located at Minot AFB, North Dakota.

Mission

History

The 740th Missile Squadron was assigned to the 91st Strategic Reconnaissance Wing at Lockbourne AFB, Ohio, on 25 June 1958. The 91st Wing had been deactivated on 8 November 1957, but later redesignated the 91st Bombardment Wing and activated 15 November 1962 at Glasgow AFB, Montana. After being temporarily integrated along with the rest of the 91st Wing into the Strategic Air Command's Arc Light Force for combat in Southeast Asia, the 740th returned on 31 March 1967. On 25 June 1968, the 91st was moved to Minot AFB, North Dakota, where it absorbed the 455th Strategic Missile Wing and was redesignated the 91st Strategic Missile Wing.91st Bombardment Wing.
