Wincanton railway station was a station in the county of Somerset, in England. It was located between Templecombe and Cole stations on the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway. Sited on a single line stretch, the station had two platforms with a station building. A goods yard with a dairy and sidings for the use of the horses from the local racecourse was controlled from a signal box on one platform.

History

The station was opened in November 1861 by the London and South Western Railway as part of the Dorset Central Railway. The station was transferred to the Southern Railway at the Grouping of 1923, becoming part of the Southern Region of British Railways when the railways were nationalised in 1947. The station was closed when the S&DJR closed on 7th March 1966.
