Wayne Dawson

Wayne Dawson (Born April 24, 1955 in Cleveland, OH) is an award-winning newscaster and co-host of "Fox 8 in the Morning", a morning show broadcast on FOX affiliate WJW-TV Channel 8, in Cleveland, Ohio. Accessed 2007-09-26.] For two years prior to joining WJW in 1981, Dawson was an anchor/reporter at WNIR-AM in Kent, Ohio. A graduate of Cuyahoga Community College, Wayne moved on to Kent State University and graduated in 1979 with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism. Dawson currently lives in the suburb of Richmond Heights, OH.

Wayne Dawson on the "Fox 8 in the Morning" is known for his sharp sense of style. This reflects on his two co-anchors Tracy McCool and Stefani Schaefer. When Dawson wears a red tie and shirt, then his co-anchors wear something red. If he wears a gray suit, then his co-anchors wear something gray.

Career Achievements and Honors

An eight-time regional Emmy Award winner (Lower Great Lakes-NATAS), Dawson is also a member of the NAACP, the National Association of Black Journalists and the Phi Beta Sigma fraternity. "Cleveland Life Magazine" Recently named Dawson "Most Favorite Male" and "Best Dressed Male Television Personality" for the second time. He was also twice named one of the Jaycees "Outstanding Young Men of America." Beyond that, the Professional Women's Business Association selected Dawson "Outstanding TV News Reporter" and Delta Sigma Theta named him "Man of the Year."
