Tipperary South is a constituency represented in Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish parliament or Oireachtas. It was created for the 1948 general election when the previous Tipperary constituency divided into North and South.

Details

The parliamentary constituency of Tipperary South consists of the southern half of County Tipperary, and a small part of County Waterford and includes Tipperary town, Clonmel, Cashel, Carrick-on-Suir and Cahir. The constituency, which currently has an electorate of 56,092, is represented by three Teachtaí Dála (TDs), elected by Single Transferable Vote.
