Kian was born in
Sligo ,Ireland to parents Patricia and Kevin. He has three brothers; Tom, Gavin and Colm, and three sisters; Marielle, Vivienne and Fenella. He attendedSummerhill College secondary school in Sligo. He plays many instruments inside and outside the group, including thepiano andguitar and was a former member of Sligopunk rock groupSkrod . He was also in a pop group called IOU with fellow Westlife membersShane Filan andMark Feehily as well as Graham Keighron, Michael "Miggles" Garrett and Derrick Lacey. Kian Egan's credits in the band include writing songs such as "Don't Let Me Go" and "When You Come Around".Kian is currently
