Miyapur (English pronunciation: /ˈmiːjɑːpʊər/ mee-yah-poor; Telugu: మియాపూర్), a suburb of Hyderabad, the capital of the Indian state of, Andhra Pradesh. Miyapur is today a part of "Greater Hyderabad", which is administered by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and is fast developing as the residential and transportation hub for the people of Hyderabad. It is located on NH9, the Pune-Hyderabad-Machilipatnam highway. Hafeezpet (HFZ) MMTS station is the nearest to Miyapur.

Miyapur is one of Hyderabad's most crowded places with high population density^{[citation needed]}. It's a residential area for people working in various organizations in and around Miyapur. It has seen many developments in the last five years. Miyapur has developed into a major residential, transportation and commercial area over a decade. The demand for property in Miyapur has increased over the last few years as the connectivity to IT & commercial & industrial hubs has improved. Further contributing to this is the connectivity via the link-roads passing through Miyapur connecting highways, airports, railway and bus terminals^{[citation needed]}.

History

• Miyapur was a village under Hyderabad Nizam’s rule until September 17, 1948 after which it was part of India.
• Miyapur is now a part of, Ranga Reddy district which was formed on 15th August 1978, by carving out and deleting the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, a few surrounding urban settlements, of the erstwhile Hyderabad State, which formed the urban core and renamed as Ranga Reddy after the Late Sri K. V.Ranga Reddy, the then Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

• Inter City Bus Terminal (ICBT) - About 55 acres (0.22 km²) located on Miyapur-Kompally Intermediate Ring Road, the bus terminal will be constructed on a Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis and will provide one stop integrated world-class state-of-the-art facilities for commuters and bus-operators. Includes passenger terminals, bus bays, idle bus parking facilities, parking for 2, 3 & 4 wheelers, driver rest rooms / dormitories, budget hotels, food courts, bus service centers, fuel stations, convenience shopping, commercial spaces, etc.. All bus services are proposed to terminate here. Approximate project cost ^[10] 100 crore (US$20.28 million). There will be nearly 200 bus bays meant for outstation and nearly 30 bays for city buses.

Hyderabad Metro Map

• Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) - Miyapur metro rail terminal (Terminal Station & Maintenance Depot-I) in 200 acres (0.81 km²) with commercial & IT hub. The station is planned at Miyapur in an “off road” location to provide for terminal station requirements. Connection to the maintenance depot on further north is provided from this station. The maintenance depot along with full workshop facilities has been proposed at Miyapur, adjacent to the terminal station. The area of the depot is about 40 hectares (0.40 km²). The site has a road approach from the NH 9. A test track of 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) length has been proposed in the depot. A washing plant is also proposed here. Holding capacity of the depot has been planned to be 45 rakes of 6 coach each for inspection purposes and 6 rakes of 6 car each over hauling purposes. Daily tests and checks shall be done at stabling sidings. 3 day, 15 day and 3 monthly inspection shall be done inside the Inspection Shed. The facilities shall be provided in phases and augmented as the train frequency and formation increases due to growth in traffic. Overhauling of the rakes is also planned at this depot. The total HMR project cost is approximately ^[10] 12,136 crore (US$2.46 billion). HMR project is planned from Miyapur to LB Nagar (Green Line) a distance of 28.87 kilometres (17.94 mi) with 27 stations and also two other corridors, Jubilee Bus Station - Falaknuma (Blue Line) a distance of 14.78 kilometres (9.18 mi) with 16 stations and Nagole - Shilparamam (Orange Line) a distance of 27.51 kilometres (17.09 mi) with 23 stations.

• MAK M3 Towers - Multiplex, Mall, Offices and Hotel. This is a mixed development project consisting of retail, multiplex & 250 room business hotel and 200,000 square feet (0.019 km²) retail & office space. The estimated value of the project is about ^[10] 3 billion (US$60.84 million).

• Elixir City - The Foundation Of Life - The 200 acres (0.81 km²) medical city at Ameenpur is being planned by HMDA, with a focus on medical tourism. Elixir city will house medical institutes of national and international repute with up to date medical facilities. The city will have extensive landscaping, water bodies and plantations to create a healing atmosphere. Besides medical institutions, Elixir city would also have resorts for the health conscious. (This project has been put on-hold due to some land problems, but HMDA has not given up on this project.^[11])
