Core77

Core77

Core77 is an online magazine dedicated to the practice and produce of the field of industrial design. The site began as two students' graduate school project at Brooklyn, New York's Pratt Institute. It serves as a practical resource for students, practitioners and fans of the field, as well as a venue for essays and reports on the topic of design in general. Historically, most of the magazine's content has been produced by volunteer contributors.

Launched in March 1995, and updated on a monthly basis since, Core77 is possibly the oldest online magazine in existence today[1]. It was first hosted at Interport, an early ISP in New York City, later it moved to its own domain.

Core77's popularity as a general design destination for the public has grown in recent years, leading to references of the site in mainstream publications such as The New York Times[2] and PC Magazine[3]

Contributors

Past and current contributors to Core77 include notable design figures such as designer Karim Rashid, Museum of Modern Art curator Paola Antonelli, user-centered design advocate Donald Norman and Steven Heller, art director and author.
