Latin University of Costa Rica

Latin University of Costa Rica

Latin University of Costa Rica ( _es. Universidad Latina), commonly called "ULatina", is a private university located in Costa Rica. The university has several campuses around Costa Rica, although the main campus is located in San Pedro, in San José. There's also several in Panama, including Panama City, Chitré, and a special Medicine branch.

History

Universidad Latina was founded in 1989 as the Collegium Latinum, being part of Central America] (UACA), Costa Rica's oldest private higher learning institution. The Collegium separated from UACA ten years after its foundation, becoming a separate university.

Academics

ULatina enrolls approximately 15,000 undergraduate and 1,000 graduate students. Most students prefer this University because they do not require to pass an admission exam to enroll, unlike some of the other universities in Costa Rica. ULatina even admits students who have not passed the "Bachillerato" exams (basic education exams high school students must approve in order to graduate), so students who have not finished high school can move on to college. Its academic programs in dentistry, accounting, medicine, engineering, social science, laws and information systems have an average reputation.
