Kildare South is a constituency represented in Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish parliament or Oireachtas. The constituency has an electorate of 58,354 and at present is served by 3 Teachtaí Dála (TDs). The method of election is the Single Transferable Vote. The constituency was created for the 2002 general election after the breakup of the former 5-seat Kildare constituency, with Kildare North being the other constituency created.

The Kildare South parliamentary constituency spans the entire area of the southern half of County Kildare in Leinster, taking in the towns of Newbridge, Kildare, Athy, Caragh and many other areas.

Kildare South was notable at the 2002 general election, when Alan Dukes, the former leader of Fine Gael and Cabinet Minister, lost his Dáil seat. It was just another loss on a day which saw the Fine Gael Party lose many of its brightest and best TDs.
