Robert Carr (programmer)

Robert Carr (born 1956) is credited as the architect of GO Corporation's PenPoint OS. He was profiled in the book "Programmers at Work" (ISBN 0-914845-71-3), where he was credited as the author of Framework.

Robert Carr is mostly known for being the inventor of the Framework integrated office suite. Framework was as best selling PC software package for several years in the mid 1980s and was notable for combining several applications in a seamless environment and the first product to integrate live outlining with word processing.

* Robert Carr holds a B.S. and a M.S. degree in Computer Engineering from Stanford University.

* 1987 - Robert Carr co-founded the communications startup Go Corporation, where he led all software development including the PenPoint operating system. He is the co-inventor and holder of two patents on pen-based computing and object-oriented operating systems.
* Robert Carr has been the vice President of the AutoCAD Market Group at Autodesk, Inc.
* 1997-2003, Robert Carr was Managing Director at Sofinnova Ventures where he was one of five partners managing $550 million in early stage high tech venture capital funds.
* 2003-2006, Robert co-founded and is CEO of Keep and Share, a web 2.0 group productivity startup.
