chool District

Although Vandercook Lake is unincorporated, it has its own school district. The high school mascot is the Jayhawk, although no connection to Kansas is apparent. The district's sports teams also use the nickname "Vandy" on uniforms and in cheers--although this was disfavored, even into the early 1980s.

The Vandercook Lake track teams during the Thomas Gass era were unquestionably dominate in the Cascades Conference.
