Patoka Township is one of ten townships in Gibson County, Indiana. As of the 2000 census, its population was 11,502. Princeton is the township seat. Patoka Township is the center of the North Gibson School Corporation. Patoka Township is the center of Gibson County's population with over 10,000 residents. Patoka and Union townships have experienced explosive growth in the manufacturing area due mainly to the arrival of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana in 1996. Princeton has gotten in on the business expansions, landing many retailers in 2007, including Menards.

Patoka Township covers an area of 68.94 square miles (178.54 square kilometers); of this, 0.07 square miles (0.19 square kilometers) or 0.11 percent is water.
