Edinburgh University Savoy Opera Group, or EUSOG is a charitable organisation for the performance and promotion of operettas by Messrs William Schwenck Gilbert and Arthur Seymour Sullivan. It was founded in 1962 by a group of students and has been going strong since! The latest Savoy Opera they have produced was The Mikado in March 2008.
They are currently working towards their Edinburgh Fringe Festival production of 'Company' by Stephen Sondheim. This will be performed the 4th - 10th and 12th - 17th of August in Augustine's Church on George IV Bridge, Edinburgh.
They will also be performing a reduced version of HMS Pinafore in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. This has been independently funded, and some of the profits will go to the charity Edinburgh Sick Kids Foundation. It will be performed in the Roxy1 venue at 10pm from the 18th to the 23rd of August (Monday to Saturday of week3).
