External links Website Keeping Up with the Kardashians is an American reality television series that airs on E!. The series premiered in October 2007. It focuses on the personal and professional lives of the members of the Kardashian and Jenner family. There will be a 7th Season to premiere in 2012.
As of September 2011, six seasons of the series have aired. The success of the series has led to a number of spin-offs, including Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami, Kourtney and Kim Take New York and Khloé & Lamar.

Cast

She was married to the late Robert Kardashian, best known for being a defense lawyer during the O.J. Simpson murder trial, and had three daughters and one son with him before they divorced in 1990. She later married athlete Bruce Jenner, and has two daughters with him. She owned the now-closed children's boutique, Smooch, in Calabasas, California. Bruce Jenner 1–present Bruce is a 1976 Olympic decathlon champion. He married Kris in 1991, and has four other children from two previous marriages: Burt Jenner, Casey Jenner, Brandon Jenner and The Hills cast member Brody Jenner. Kourtney Kardashian 1–present Kourtney is Kris and Robert's oldest daughter. She and her sisters co-own D-A-S-H, a women's boutique with locations in Calabasas, Miami, and New York City, as well as previously co-owning the now-closed Smooch with her mother. She was featured on the reality program Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive. She and her boyfriend Scott have a son, Mason Dash Disick. Kimberly "Kim" Kardashian 1–present Kim is Kris and Robert's second daughter. She came to prominence after a sex tape was released with her and then-boyfriend Ray J in 2007. She co-owns D-A-S-H and launched her first perfume in 2009, as well as having endorsement deals with bebe, GNC (which makes QuickTrim), and ShoeDazzle. Kardashian was reported by the New York Post as the highest-paid television reality star in 2010, and was estimated to have earned $6 million from the show and endorsements for products.[2] She was married to former New Jersey Nets basketball player and current free agent Kris Humphries, until filing for divorce after only 72 days of marriage. Khloé Kardashian Odom 1–present Khloé is Kris and Robert's youngest daughter. She is married to Los Angeles Lakers player Lamar Odom. She co-owns D-A-S-H, was arrested in 2007 for a DUI, and appeared in a nude photo shoot for PETA's "I'd Rather Go Naked than Wear Fur" campaign. She was also a contestant on season 8 of The Celebrity Apprentice. Rob Kardashian 1–present Rob is Kris and Robert's only son. He graduated from the University of Southern California became a model. He has also become a finalist on Dancing with the Stars Kendall Jenner 1–present Kendall is Kris and Bruce's oldest daughter. She models with agency Wilhelmina Models and has previously represented Forever 21 and Sherri Hill's prom dresses.[3] Kylie Jenner 1–present Kylie is Kris and Bruce's youngest daughter. She was first featured in Paper magazine's "The Beautiful People" with Kendall, and later began modeling for Sears' "Crush Your Style" promotion. She is pursuing her modeling career by doing photo shoots with OK!, Teen Vogue, and photographer Nick Saglimbeni. Supporting cast Scott Disick 1–present Scott is Kourtney's on and off boyfriend and the father of Kourtney's son, Mason. The family has struggled with the tumultuous relationship that the two have, including his problem with drinking. Mason Dash Disick 4–present Mason is Kourtney and Scott's son. He was born in the fourth season finale. Lamar Odom 4–present Lamar is Khloé's husband. He plays as a forward for the Los Angeles Lakers. Malika Haqq 2–present Malika is Khloé's best friend and former assistant. She is part of the main cast in Khloé & Lamar. She will also appear in the third season of Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami. Kourtney was unable to be a part of the third season, so Malika will go in her place. Subsquently the spin-off will be re-titled Khloé and Malika Take Miami. Former Supporting Cast Adrienne Bailon 2–6 Cheetah Girl Adrienne started dating Rob in the second season, then lived together in the third. When they broke up in the fourth season, she appeared in several episodes as a family friend, including attending Khloé's wedding in season 4 as well as in the season 5 finale when the family went to New York. Reggie Bush 2–4 Reggie is Kim's ex-boyfriend. He plays for the Miami Dolphins. Kristopher "Kris" Humphries 6 Kris is the second ex-husband of Kim. The show was an instant hit for E! – in its first month on the air it became the highest-rated series on Sunday nights among women aged 18 to 34 and was also seen by 1.3 million total viewers.[15] The second season continued the success and was viewed by 1.6 million viewers, a 23% increase from the first season.[16] The fifth season averaged 3.11 million viewers
The fourth season's premiere, "The Wedding" was watched by 3.2 million viewers.[17] The second episode of the season topped the 3.2 million of the premiere and had 4.1 million viewers.[18]
Spin-offs
Main articles: Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami, Kourtney and Kim Take New York, and Khloé & LamarIn April 2009, it was announced that a spin-off, originally titled Kourtney and Khloé in Miami,[19] would premiere in August that same year and that the show would follow the two sisters as they open a second D-A-S-H store in Miami. The series premiered to 2.7 million[20] viewers and averaged 1.89 million[21] viewers. A second season began in June 2010 and averaged 2.717 million viewers, a 43% increase from the first season.
In October 2010, the official E! website announced that a second spin-off, titled Kourtney and Kim Take New York, was about to begin filming in New York and is scheduled to air in January 2011. The show will be similar to Miami as Kourtney and Kim will oversee the opening of a third D-A-S-H store, which is located in SoHo.[22] The show premiered on January 23,2011.
On January 5, 2011, E! officially announced that a third spinoff from the series, this one featuring Khloé and her husband Lamar Odom would begin filming in early 2011. The show, entitled Khloé & Lamar, premiered on April 10, 2011.
On August 2011 it was rumored that a 2nd season of Kourtney and Kim Take New York was in the makings. During the Kim Kardashian wedding special, commercials were aired of Kourtney and Kim Take New York season 2. Filming started in late August or early September. Season 2 is set to air in November of 2011.
Controversy
As a response to Kimberly "Kim" Kardashian's lavish wedding and quick divorce, there is a growing movement to remove the Kardashian series' off the air. The petition, which has been posted on gopetition.com, states "these shows are mostly staged and place an emphasis on vanity, greed, promiscuity, vulgarity and over-the-top conspicuous consumption...We are respectfully requesting that your network find other shows to air." As of 11/20/11, the petition has close to 160,000 signatures. [23]
