Advenza Freight

Advenza Freight is a rail freight company based in Gloucester in the United Kingdom. It is part of Cotswold Rail group.

In 2007 First Great Western used Advenza Freight to move stock from various refurbishments and for positioning moves, Advenza Freight has previously delivered Intercity 125 Powercars to Brush Traction for MTU fitment and refurbishment.

In 2008 Advenza Freight started operating scrap metal flows from TJ Thomsons & Son in Stockton on Tees to Cardiff. Later in this year contracts for Tyne Dock scrap metal flows were won. Advenza Freight now also have a service operating from Ripple Lane.

Advenza Freight now also provides locomotives, and crew for stock moves for Grand Central Railway Company Ltd and National Express East Coast, between their depots at Heaton and Craigentinny respectively. Such moves include the movement of InterCity 125 Powercars or British Rail Mark 3 coaches.

Advenza Freight use leased bogie box wagons to operate their scrap services, and these complement the 2 British Rail Class 47 and 2 British Rail Class 57 locomotives, which are owned in full by the company. To complement, and provide cover for locomotives undergoing repairs or exams, Advenza Freight have hired British Rail Class 20 from Harry Needle Railroad Company.
