Gennep (Pronunciation|131 Gennep.ogg) is a municipality and a city in the southeastern Netherlands.

The city of Gennep

Gennep was the title of a comital family, a descendant of which is the famous Saint Norbert of Gennep.

Gennep received city rights in 1371. It lies about 18 km southeast of Nijmegen.

In 2001, Gennep had 8306 inhabitants.
