He began his career with the 1923 New York Yankees, a team which won theWorld Series (Hendrick was purchased by New York from theBoston Red Sox , for whom he never played a game). After one more year with New York, he would begin a journeyman existence, playing for six more teams; his longest stay with any one team was a five-year stint with the Brooklyn Robins.Hendrick committed suicide in
