I. T. Montgomery House is was the home of Isaiah Thornton Montgomery, (21 May 1847 - 5 March 1924), a former slave, who with his cousin Benjamin Green founded the successful Mound Bayou, Mississippi community, one of the first such, in 1887. He lived in this home from 1910 to 1924.
