Centre for Critical Infrastructure Protection

The Centre for Critical Infrastructure Protection (CCIP), located in New Zealand, is an organisational unit of the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) and is dedicated to working with New Zealand's Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) industry, organisations and New Zealand Government departments to improve the protection against cyber threats.

Mission

The Centre for Critical Infrastructure Protection (CCIP) is dedicated to improving the protection of New Zealand's Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) from cyber based threats.

Vision

To become a reliable, recognised and highly-regarded source of information relevant to the protection of CNI.

Functions

* To provide 24/7 watch and warning advice to the owners and operators of our CNI and the New Zealand Government;
* To investigate and analyse cyber incidents that occur against our CNI; and
* To work with CNI protection agencies both nationally and internationally to improve the awareness and understanding of cyber security in New Zealand.

Overview

The CCIP was established in 2001. The CCIP reports directly to the New Zealand Prime Minister.
