Hand on the Plow is a British record label set up in 2004 by Laszlo Beckett and Steven Taylor, otherwise known as Beckett & Taylor.

Overview

Beckett & Taylor are the main contributors to the label alongside the artist Spandex.
Caro and Cristian Vogel have contributed remixes to releases.

Influential journalist Philip Sherburne described the labels's first release as "absolutely incredible" [http://www.neumu.net/needledrops/data/00089_needledrops.shtml] .The last Beckett & Taylor release on Hand on the Plow was Boomkat single of the week and Experimental Single of the Week in Mixmag magazine in September 2006.

History

Laszlo Beckett released one 12" record on the short-lived record label Yakima prior to starting Hand on the Plow. Steven Taylor released an album in 1998 under the artist name Horse Opera, the fourth release on the label Planet Mu. Steven also released music on labels including Spymania, Lucky Kitchen, iLL Records, and Virgin Records.
