- Leadership Pittsburgh, Inc.
Leadership Pittsburgh Inc. (LPInc.) is the premier source of leadership in the Southwestern Pennsylvania region. The programs of Leadership Pittsburgh Inc. connect individuals from diverse backgrounds, professional levels, and organizations to serve the region by exposing these leaders to critical issues, skill development and community service opportunities. LPInc. has a graduate network of more than 1,400 influential civic leaders working to maximize the potential of our community.
Modeled after existing programs around the country, the Leadership Pittsburgh program was created in 1983 to enhance the quality of regional leadership through programming focused on awareness of community issues. Leadership Development Initiative (LDI) was added as a companion program in 1994, and, in the fall of 1998, Leadership OnBoard was developed to facilitate board placements of young professionals. In January 2005, Leadership Pittsburgh Inc. and the Allegheny Conference on Community Development entered into a partnership to offer several programs. These “new” programs create a continuum of opportunities for targeting, fostering and engaging leaders in the Pittsburgh Region and
