ALICE IN WONDERLAND 2008

Few can deny the magic and charm of the ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’ stories. Now considered a children’s classic, and once the most popular children’s book in the world, The Castle bring a quirky, exciting, and energetic new adaptation of these two books to the stage this Christmas. Tired of the repetitive day-to-day study with her strict Governess, Alice dreams for something exciting to happen to her before the day is out. Right under her nose, as if by magic, a flustered White Rabbit scurries past muttering “Oh dear, I shall be too late”. Curiosity naturally gets the better of her and Alice follows the rabbit down a hole and into a fascinating, topsy-turvy world of surprises and confusion. Featuring a neurotic Caterpillar worried about becoming a butterfly, a ‘Jazzy’ short tempered Queen of Hearts, our favourite Madhatters T-Party, the theatrical Tweedle-Dum and Tweedle-Dee, and the White Knight, a rather mad inventor who helps Alice on her journey to get home.Curiouser and curiouser, this visual high energy pop musical combines imaginative choreography with physical slapstick comedy and songs that will make you want to leap from your seat and join in the fun!Nominated for Best Drama when it premiered in 1999 (BCA) Awards, this toe-tapping, arm waving interactive show has already played to in excess of 80,000 young boys and girls across Ireland and is now set for its English Few can deny the magic and charm of the ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’ stories.
