Treaty of Paris is an American rock band from Chicago, Illinois. The band consists of five members: Phil Kosch, Dan Wade, Nick Fonzi, Chris Insidioso and Mike Chorvat. Between March 12, 2007 and September 30, 2007, the band participated in q101's Breaking the Band, in which they began to get local and national attention. Treaty of Paris is signed on to Andrew McMahon's label ATR records.

History

Guitarist Daniel Arnold Wade met drummer Chris Luis Insidoso in gym class in their senior year of high school. Together the two began to record jazz beats on cassette for their classmates. The tapes became such a success that the Principal asked to play their songs during passing periods. They soon found bookings at local bowling alleys and movie theaters. On April 14, 2001 they met singer Mike Chorvat, then employed at a local hoagie deli, and the band Empyrean was formed. Mike's vocals brought in a larger fan base, and the newly formed band created their first compact disc "Couch Jumping".

Soon after, bassist Brandon Capetillo (who was dating Mike's sister at the time), drummer Scott Hoeft, and guitarist Phil Kosch (who had previously played in local Chicago pop punk band Saraphine), joined the corps, and the group adopted the name Treaty of Paris in 2004. Hoeft would later leave the group and was replaced by Chris Insidoso from Empyrean. Teaming up with Andrew McMahon of the bands Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin, the group recorded their full-length debut, "Sweet Dreams, Sucker", in Burbank, California, which was released on McMahon's label on September 25, 2007. Accessed November 3, 2007.] Soon after the release of Sweet Dreams, Sucker, lead guitarist Daniel Arnold Wade separated his collar bone in a kayaking accident and was forced to sit aside for three months as the band played Christmas and Hanukkah shows for orphans. After several months of rehabbing and writing lyrics, Dan was welcomed back to the band in time to join the for the famous annual President's Day show. In the spring of 2008, bassist Brandon Capetillo notified the band and its fans that he would be leaving in pursuit of Epicurean interests and was replaced by Nick Fonzi on bass guitar.

The band most recently toured with Yellowcard and with acts such as Paramore, Jimmy Eat World, My Chemical Romance at the Bamboozle festival in spring 2008. Treaty is currently performing on the Vans Warped Tour between June 20 and June 29, 2008 and will return to play the Stained Glass Palace in early July.

Lead singer Mike Chorvat is classically trained in singing.
