Zuunmod (Mongolian: Зуунмод) is the center of Mongolia's Central Province (Töv aimag), located 30 km south of Ulan Bator. It has a population of 14,660 (2006) inhabitants and an area of 19.18 square kilometres[1]. Zuunmod is located at the southern side of Bogd Khan Uul, 43 km from the capital Ulaanbaatar.
Zuunmod was established as the center of Töv aimag in 1942. Until that time, the administration of the aimag had been located in Ulaanbaatar.
Livestock
In 2004, Zuunmod officially had about 24000 heads of livestock, among them 8,500 goats, 12,000 sheep, 2,000 cattle and about as many horses, and no camels[2].
