The 91 Line is a regional rail line operated by Metrolink that runs from downtown Los Angeles to Riverside (some trains continue on to San Bernardino), paralleling the very busy State Route 91 between Riverside and Santa Fe Springs. It operates on track owned by BNSF Railway. The 91 Line runs 5 days a week with peak hour and limited mid-day service. The line mostly shares stations with the Orange County Line and Inland Empire-Orange County Line (IEOC). At Riverside-Downtown station it connects with the Riverside Line.

The 91 Line has been operating to Riverside since May 2002, providing 9 weekday trips to and from Los Angeles. It is also proposed to add an extension to this line to Perris by way of Moreno Valley.

There are nine stations that serve the 91 line.

# Union Station, Los Angeles
# Commerce, Commerce
# Norwalk/Santa Fe Springs, Norwalk
# Buena Park, Buena Park
# Fullerton, Fullerton
# West Corona, Corona
# North Main Corona, Corona

Perris Valley Line Extension

"By 2010, Riverside County Transportation Commission hopes to begin service on the Perris Valley Line which extends the current 91 Line to Moreno Valley, March Air Reserve Base and Perris. The Commission is currently working to obtain environmental clearance and obtain a rating from the Federal Transit Administration to enable the project to be eligible for federal funds" [PDF| [http://www.rctc.org/about/pdf/AnnualReport.pdf 2005-2006 RCTC Annual Report] ]

The first phase of the extension will tenatively include the following stations along the BNSF's Riverside Industrial Lead Line and the San Jacinto Branch Line:

#Palmyrita Station, Riverside
#University of California, Riverside
#Fair Isle Station, Moreno Valley
#Moreno Valley-March Field Station, Moreno Valley
#Ramona Expressway, Perris
#Perris
#South Perris

Further extensions to the line was recommended in RCTC's Commuter Rail Feasibility Study to San Jacinto via an underused rail line and/or Temecula via a brand-new trackage [ [http://www.rctc.org/commuterrailstudy.asp Commuter Rail Feasibility Study ] ] .
