Silver Award (Girl Scouts of the USA)

Silver Award (Girl Scouts of the USA)

The Silver Award is the second highest award of the Girl Scouts of the USA. Only Cadette Scouts ages 11-14 or in grade 6-9 can earn it.

Requirements

As of 2005, the requirements are:
* The Girl Scout Silver Leadership Award, which requires three interest projects and 15 hours of leadership experience.
* The Girl Scout Silver Career Award.
* The Girl Scout Silver 4Bs Challenge, which consists of setting self-improvement goals and also identifying important community problems and solutions.

Once these initial requirements are completed, the final stage consists of a 40 hour service project that can be done inside or outside of Girl Scouting. Upon completion of the silver award project, the Girl Scout may need to submit the Girl Scout Silver Award report to their local Girl Scout Council.
