Isham

Isham is a village in Northamptonshire, England.

Isham is situated on the A509 road, three miles south of Kettering (administratively it forms part of the borough of Wellingborough) and a mile to the west of Burton Latimer. The River Ise is to the east of the village.

Isham has a shop, a church (St Peter's), an Independent Wesleyan chapel and a small Church of England Primary School. Isham's two pubs are called the "Monk & Minstrel" and the "Lilacs Inn". There is a cricket club on the outskirts of the village between Isham and Orlingbury, home of Isham CC [ [http://www.ishamcc.co.uk Isham Cricket Club] ] who play in Div 1 of The Northamptonshire County League. Past players have included Stephen Fleming (NZ Captain), Johan Myburgh (SA Titans). The village is home to a wild bird sanctuary called 'Safewings' which cares for injured birds [ [http://www.uksafari.com/safewings/index.htm Safewings website] ] .

HMS Isham, a Ham class minesweeper was named after the village.
