ITV Playhouse

ITV Playhouse was a UK comedy-drama TV series that ran from 1967 to 1982, which was scripted by Dennis Potter and Alan Sharp. The series was produced by Associated-Rediffusion Television, and it included a range of actors such as Leslie Anderson, Gwen Nelson, Ricky Alleyne, Pat Heywood, Michael Elphick, Ian Hendry, Edward Woodward, and Lloyd Peters.

Scriptwriter Dennis Potter (1935–1994) was a controversial English dramatist, best known for "The Singing Detective". His widely acclaimed television dramas mixed fantasy and reality, and personal and social themes, often using themes and images from popular culture. Co-scriptwriter Alan Sharp (b. 1934) is a Scottish novelist and screenwriter whose most productive period was the early and mid-1970s.
