Sequoia Capital along with other sources of capital , it grew very fast during the original dot com era.In 1993 Quote.com was founded. As one of the very first Internet portals, the Quote.com developed individual user profiles to specify information based upon inputs supplied like stock symbols or relevant news content. News streaming for each stock tied to a user profile along with charting, weather and other types of information became a web standard expectation for portals in general very quickly.
In December 1994 the founder was introduced web content from a number of companies, like Freese-Notis Weather for commodities oriented weather that was displayed for users early in the following year. Like many parts of Quote.com, the weather section uniquely combined exchange symbols with the relevant parts of the forecast for commodities traders. Some other types of value added plays including
