- Jizera River
The Jizera ( _de. Iser; _pl. Izera) is a
river that begins on the border betweenPoland and theCzech Republic and ends in Central Bohemia. It develops from the confluence of the Great Jizera ("Velká Jizera") in theJizera Mountains ("Jizerské hory") and the Little Jizera ("Malá Jizera") in theGiant Mountains ("Krkonoše"), and flows for 164 km into the Labe (Elbe ) at the village ofKáraný nearBrandýs nad Labem-Stará Boleslav . On its way, the river intersects theJeštěd-Kozákov Ridge . For the first 15 kilometers the river consitute border between Poland and Czech Republic.Like many other names in
