Covenant Transport, Inc. is a truckload carrier headquartered in Chattanooga, Tennessee.[1][2] It began operations on January 2, 1986[3], with 25 trucks and 50 trailers. Today, coupled with its partners, Southern Refrigerated Transport, Inc. and Star Transportation, Inc., it now has over 3,600 trucks and 9,500 trailers. Covenant is ranked as one of the ten largest truckload carriers in the United States by revenue.[4][not in citation given]Contents
Partners and Locations
Covenant Transport partners with Southern Refrigerated Transport Inc. (Texarkana, Arkansas) and Star Transportation Inc. (Nashville, Tennessee). Together, the partners have terminals in the following locations: Chattanooga, Tennessee; Hutchins, Texas; Horizon City, Texas; Pomona, California; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Indianapolis, Indiana; Dalton, Georgia; Sayreville, New Jersey; Long Beach, California; Laredo, Texas; French Camp, California; Greensboro, North Carolina; Tipp City, Ohio and Little Rock, Arkansas. However, some of these terminals have been closed due to downsizing, such as Little Rock and Oklahoma City.
On August 12, 2011, Factory & Steel Transportation, Inc. (Fastrans) of Tennessee announced that its van operations would be acquired by Covenant. The letter issued to Fastrans' customers by Mark Paré, Covenant's Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, indicated that the acquision would increase the company's access to the Canadian transportation market.
Services
Covenant provides several services. These services include: temperature controlled trucking, regional delivery and longhaul delivery.[5]
Pro-Life Message
All of Covenant's trailers, on the right-side door, show a pro-life message in a blue box with white lettering: "It Is Not A Choice It Is A Child".
